Das Institut für Allgemeine Erziehungswissenschaft und Berufspädagogik (IAEB) analysiert und reflektiert Sozialisations-, Erziehungs- und Bildungsprozesse in ihrer historischen Entwicklung, ihrer Systematik, ihrer gesellschaftlichen Relevanz und ihren internationalen Bezügen. Aufgabe des Instituts ist die Thematisierung, Diskussion und Vermittlung der Grundbegriffe und Grundfragen der Erziehungswissenschaft und von Theorien und Methoden zur Erforschung und Analyse unterschiedlicher pädagogischer Praxisfelder und Problemstellungen.
