Die Arbeitsgruppe Identitätsschutz im Internet ist ein nichtwirtschaftlicher Verein.

Nachdem zu Beginn der Tätigkeit der Arbeitsgruppe Identitätsschutz im Internet der Fokus besonders auf die Problematik des Phishing (sämtliche Formen von Identitätsmissbrauch im Internet) ausgerichtet war, hat sich das Themenspektrum in den letzten Jahren stark erweitert. Heute befasst sie sich mit dem gesamten Bereich des Schutzes von Identitäten und Identifizierungsdaten im Internet. Hierbei hat sich die Arbeitsgruppe zur Aufgabe gemacht, den Schutz der Internet-Nutzer gegen alle Formen des Identitätsmissbrauchs zu verbessern.
